It started with a question.

Before I ever became an esthetician, I worked for a major skincare brand, and I got scolded at a training for asking too many questions. They said my questions had a negative tone. They didn't. I was just challenging what I'd been handed, and that seed sent me on a mission to question everything. It is why I became an esthetician in the first place.

Nearly two decades later, it got personal. In 2022, my mom was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, the kind that affects the skin and the organs. Her skin peeled and burned, and everything the doctors and the shelves recommended only made it worse. We bought so many products, and I read every label: calming, helps with redness, for irritated skin. Not one held up. I felt lied to.

So I stopped trusting the labels and built what she actually needed: gentle, honest, barrier-first care that protects and comforts reactive skin instead of pushing it harder. That became Phoryor.
